Smittened..

H smittens me to death and spoils me rotten, but this time, these two little guys just send me to the high heavens above. No need to bust out your shot gun, H, I'm talking about the MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study and La Mer Eye Balm.

Though the MAC Paint Pot is nothing new to any makeup junkie, but I've just recently been bitten by the MAC bug, so I'm on this ridiculous MAC-itis right now. I like UDPP, but sometimes, I wish I could do the shimmer higlight and base at the same time. Many people suggested Painterly, but when I tried it in person, it looks too pink and opaque for me. I like to have some kind of shimmer on my lid and not completely matt. Bare study is a sort of beige goldish color, which is perfect for highlighting. And the staying power is amazing! I've been putting this stuff on my eyes everyday, and that says a lot about anything I use.

I got a packet of La Mer Eye Balm tester from a swapper on MUA. I've always thought La Mer is over rated and "oh my god, if I hear another person saying Creme de La Mer is their favorite face cream - I will shoot myself". I'd love to say their $300 cream is my favorite too, but I just simply can't afford it and honestly, what 23-year-old need a $300 face cream? I don't want to train my skin to think it's too good for anything else when it gets old. Like when I'm 30, what? I'd have to use $1000 face cream? But anyways, since it's the winter and my eye area is dryer, I said why not give it a try? At first I thought it might be too thick and give me those little white dots under my eyes (usually happens when I use something too rich for my skin). But surprisingly, it sank in quite quickly, no oily feelings afterward, it just feel like butter going on toasted bread. Wowwwww... I likey..... H's in trouble. This is going on my xmas wishlist.

I'm going to buy H's 4th xmas gift today. And dad's xmas gift too. (I can't tell, cus H might be reading this blog, like when his smart ass was trying to find out what I want for xmas). Might get Mom the Shiseido Future Solution. $225!!! God damn! I guess I can't complain, cus my mom doesn't wear any makeup and used Shiseido Excelisor(sp?) line for as long as I can remember, and she looks incredibly radiant. Only if I got her genes!

Half day Monday! Yay~

back in the days

These pictures are circa 2003. Oh good lord, I should never keep old pictures of myself with horrible makeups. But it's interesting how I've moved on from mile high brows, thicks ass liquid liners and clownish eyeshadows.

I have these 4 palettes of Hard Card e/s that I just loved using, I still do, but just in a different way. I remember my favoriate was Maybelline eye liners and mascaras. Never wore any blushes. Never used a brush, fingers only. Had no idea how to put on foundation, I used a wedge and smudged it on, not patting, just smearing it all over my face. Had no idea what under eye concealers are.

Oh those were the days. Bad makeup, blonde highlights and even worse skin. But here I is, girls, exposed. Aside from maturing with better application skills and learning more about makeup, and of course, these wonderful blogs, I had got a few more helping hands.. I will mention that in another blog. Good night y'all.

I was tagged by The Faux Fashionista weeks ago for this game, but I never got to post it before I left for the cruise. So here it is...

Rules: Each player starts with 7 random facts/habits about themselves. People who are tagged need to then report this on their own blog with their 7 things as well as these rules. They then need to tag 7 others and list their names on their blog. They are also asked to leave a comment for each of the tagged, to let them know that they have been tagged and to read the blog.

7 Random Facts and Habits about CuttiBeBe

  1. I hate it when toliet papers are set the wrong way. I like the paper coming down facing me. I change it everytime I see it, even in someone else's house.
  2. I never put my bare elbows on the table in any resturante, it's ok if I have long sleeve on. I just can't do it with my bare elbow. It's so gross.
  3. I still have 2 of my baby teeth. Yup, it's been there since I was 2 years old, and it's still here.
  4. I may seem like a princess sometimes, but I can rough it too. Your truly have been to Tibet and traveled in a SUV for 2 days to reach the Mount Everst Base Camp. 3 days with no showers. Oh and I rode a horse so hard, I got a blister on my butt. If you haven't rode a real horse before, just remember, it will feel like your pelvics is getting beat up for the first half hour, then you get used to it.
  5. The most annoying makeup don't I see on the street are people who wore makeup, but ignores their eye brows and doesn't curl their eye lashes. It's like.. what's point, you might as well just wipe that shit off, cus you just ate the fried chicken without the hot sauce. You just don't do that, they go together like a bowl and chopsticks, that's just how it works. In my book, you need your lashes curled and at least 5 coats of mascara.
  6. My bangs are usually long because I can't stand hair in my face. I use a hair band to pull it back even if I did get bangs. And my usual hair style is a messy bun or pony tail. Even though people tell me I have nice hair, I don't let it down or even blow dry it. Same thing as people tell me I have nice hands and nails, and I hate how my nails grow so fast and strong that it doesn't break on its own. I wish they do, so I don't have to cut my nails every 3 days.
  7. I once ate 72 skewers of beef kebob (the chinese kind, so it's not that big). Went to the hospital that night. I was 8.

I'm not going to tag anybody, because most of people have done so already. Thanks for those who tagged me. I will be sure to tell you all more about me later on. =)

Because I couldn't say it better myself...

Click

I'm still on the fence about it, but at least I admit it. There are good days and bad days, but I've gone through it all. I still remember the date 1/15/2007, the start of the darkest period of my life. I wish I had sought help faster, to stop it from manifesting my life. Sometimes denial is a bliss, but only if you are really good at it.

Hopefully 2008 will be a better year for me. I swear, the next time that I feel the urge to reach in my purse for that little pill bottle, I will go see a doctor. The last time I touched that thing was in April.

I just wish I could stop asking myself "why me? what have I done wrong? how can I feel happy again? where am I going in life? what have I done to deserve this?"

I just wish my mother could stop telling me that I'm weak and not as capable as before. I wish she could stop telling me that I was stronger when I was 9, when I flew across the globe by myself.

But these are the cards life dealt me.. There is no one to answer my questions.. There is no one to feel the pain.. Then why are they talking? why are they judging me? I wish they had felt what it feels like to live my life just for one day...

I'd rather live the imperfect life than the unhappy life.. but I'm just going to give this one last try... My will is standing strong now.. maybe.. just maybe tomorrow I will forget about it completely...

HELP!

I record a video of some of my recent purchases and I can't upload it to blogspot. So I was trying to upload to youtube, I think the file size is too big (20 mins) so they won't let me upload either. So I thought about cutting into 2 videos, like many bloggers out there do. I have a Sony Vaio and they have a movie maker program, but it's so crappy!

My beauty bloggers, please, would you tell me what program do you use to edit your movies? I am so frustrated! argh~!

Thanks!!!!!

Wish List - Beauty Edition (I'm only doing this b/c I'm bored at work)

Clarisonic Face Brush
Jo Malone Cologne Collection ( I am so in love with this line of perfumes, the orange blossom is to die for!)
Juicy Couture Dresser Perfume Set ( I cannot get enough of this, even though I already own a bottle)
YSL lip and nails balm (sweet apricot scent, a must have for cold and dry winter)

Laura Geller Baked to Perfection Set (I'm experimenting with different texture in face makeup because I know I don't like wearing liquid foundation but I need coverage for my acne scars and discoloration, this sounds like an interesting product. Everything starts in liquid form, then pour into pans and baked for 24 hours. Made in Italy! Sounds yummy to me!)

OoOOooo... SpaAaaAaaa....

If I were to pick where I want to be RIGHT NOW, it'd be the Thalasso Spa at Point Grace in Providenciales, Turks and Caicos (wow, that's a mouthful).

I received a Aloe Vera Wrap treatment there, because of all the bad sunburns I got from sitting by the beach everyday. The treatment was ok, they just put blended aloe vera all over my body and wrap me in a clear plastic wrap. But it was the little shack (the same exact one as in the picture) that really got me. I was so scared that someone will see me laying there naked, but there is nothing and no one, but the wave crashing on the beach. Afterwards, I took a shower in the wild, no roof! It was as natural as you can get! the put some wooden strip board on the bottom of my feet to drain the water, there were soap and lotion, but I didn't use any of that, as I wanted the aloe vera to stay on my skin. And their towel, oh the towel, was the softeset Egyptian cotton towel I've ever felt!

Then we had dinner at Grace Cottage, which is right next door, also a part of Point Grace. We sat outside by a little gazebo. The food was great! Service was wonderful. It's very much like a dinner party at your friend's, but a really rich friend who can afford servers and bottle services for each table. But I think its the aloe vera or what not, I kept on getting bit by bugs. ARgh! But other than that. It was a just a beautiful breezy summer night.

Now THAT is a great day. Exactly what I need NOW! Not this stuffy little cube. I will try to upload a video we shot in Turks and Caicos.

put me on a jet plane and send me away~!!!

Giving

I've planned on writing this post for a very long time. Finally, when I finished wrapping the presents last night, I pushed myself to just let it out.

2007 has been an especially hard year for me. It all started with the relapses of my anxiety attack, and leaving it *still* untreated, turned it into mild depression. I don't believe I was suicidal, but I was a wrack, I've never seen myself like that. No matter how hard life has been, getting my heart broken, facing with fiercy competition or being away from my family, I have always been able to hold my own. But this time, I just completely lost it. It has to do with my inability to understand this world, if I can't understand it, I can't perform and compete for what I want.

In school, I knew exactly what I wanted and I have gotten everything - good grades, great internships with investment firms and a group of friends whom I loved and adored. But once I stepped out of the ivory tower, I've lost all the drive and motivation that I once had. It scared me that in this world, effort doesn't mean everything. Face time and ass kissing get you further than your hard work. It really was a slap in the face.

I have a very "hard" personality. I snap easily and I will let you know what's on my mind - if I don't say it, you can read it on my face. So when I got into corporate America, where wearing a Mask is your daily job, I felt like I failed at pretending. I don't want to go on about all the dirty nasty shit that goes in here, you will see it once you are in it, no one and nothing can prepare you for this.

When I got my first job as a consultant for Protiviti, my god, I was so happy I started crying the moment I hung up the phone with the director (he was the one who called me and gave me the offer). I mean, it's a dream job! I get to travel, work with different clients and the money was way more than what I had imagined! I thought wow, Stephanie, you've finally made it! They flew us for training in Philly and Houston. It was wine and dine every single night. Eatting out in fabulous expensive resturantes, staying in hotels and getting car services to and from the airport. Then I got put on a client in NJ. Now, seriously, who wants to work in Jersey? Not to disrespect, I'm from Jersey and will always be a Jersey girl, but I've worked so hard to get a job in Manhattan, I've rejected the job offer in Conn. to get sent to Jersey? Not to mention, I was on it for 6 months! Given it was our biggest client and you get a lot more respect for being on this client, but I couldn't help but to feel disoppinted.

Life got better when I got to work on the fraud investigation engagement. It involved a few things I like.. China, data analysis and BEING IN THE CITY! Oh, I forgot, we got to order out of my favoriate Chinese resturante in Manhattan (WuLiangYe) almost every day. Well, with great reward, comes great sacrifices. I was working on average 70-80 hours per week. At times, I'd work 100 hours including weekends. For a month, I worked EVERY SINGLE DAY. It was crazy, but at the end, we were able to deliver to our clients the best work and that's what really matters.

Though I felt accomplished and felt I could establish myself there after, I didn't want to stay in uncertainty all the time. I never knew when or where my next engagement would be, it could be in Albany for all I know. And in consulting, if you are not on a client, you are not chargable. If you are not chargable, people are going to think you are undesired. Everyone wants to be on the hottest clients and have 120% chargable time (bill to client time/alotted time *40hr/wk*). I've never seen so much ass kissing in my entire life! Plus there is nothing I could do to put myself on a client. It's frustrating to sit in the office and not get assigned. People will talk and your name will come up. I don't like to feel powerless.

So I jumped ship after merely 8 months with Protiviti and landed a job at Lehman Brothers. Now, life's been pretty good. Hours are reasonable, pay is higher and I have my own cube. But I won't stop here, I know this is not it for me. I don't believe I will be an auditor for the rest of my life. So I'm gearing up for GMAT and CFA next year. Hopefully by 2009, I will be in NYU Stern getting my MBA while studying for CFA Level II and III.

So what does all of these have to do with giving? Like I said, this year was so hard and I have encountered some real serious emotional problems. My confidence was so low that I started to be very sensitive about everything about me. i.e. I'd mind if someone paid $1 at a dinner, I'd mind if I drove people around and they didn't give me gas money, I'd be extremely sensitive about what people said about me and I trusted NO ONE.

I've always said, I trust nobody but myself. If I can't gain from you, I will never give you. But those were not true. Ever since I was young, I've been very trusting to everyone around me. I've been back stabbing countless times and I admit, sometimes I wish I had never made the friends I did. But everything happens for a reason, I leave that up to God to let me know. So far, He's been treating me very nice, so I don't believe those things were that bad at all. Secondly, I don't hold grudges. Life's too short to hate on people and it takes too much energy to focus on what others are doing. In a perfect world, I'd have no friends, because most of the time, I feel like they've taken more than they've given to me.

But!! that is all before I've really started to think outside of my own little world. I never thought that I've received gifts from people I've never given anything to. I only thought about those I've given to and they've never given back. Then it hit me. Isn't that what I'm doing too? I've hurted people without knowing. and in turn, people hurt me without knowing. Why do I only focus on those whom I've given to and not those who have given to me?

I felt so ashamed of myself. All these time I'm hating and cursing, but I missed out on all those people who truly cared about me...

In some way, I just told myself, some people show love differently. I cannot ask everyone to be just like me. I cannot ask everyone to be thoughtful and caring ALL THE TIME. So, the magic of changing the prospect on things is just YOUR MIND.

This is why I started thinking about all the goods everyone have done for me. i.e. taking care of Daisy when I'm not home, staying with me when I'm scared to be alone, or cook for me when I'm sick. Those little things really means a lot to me. So even though I didn't receive ANY GIFTS this year for my birthday. I will look at all of those as gifts, because they mean so much more to me than just material things. But that doesn' meant I don't like materialistic thing. hehehe...

I wrapped 9 presents last night and I'm not even done yet. Why so many you ask? because everyone's got a multiple gifts. I thought of all the things I liked when I receive gifts and came up with a few rules....
  1. Think about what you like to receive and do the same.
  2. Kind of a repeat as #1, but, never give a gift you won't like yourself.
  3. Be thoughtful. You know that snow globe will be left unused.
  4. A hand written card with thoughtful messages is A GREAT GIFT! Get poetic.
  5. An experience is a better gift than a box of chocolate, tickets to movies maybe?
  6. Gift card just means you gave up. Your friend will give up on you in return.
  7. Give money is great. just don't complain when you don't receive a gift, b/c no one will rememeber the person who just gave money.
  8. Wrap your damn presents! half of the experience is to open the gift
  9. Always include a gift receipt if possible.
  10. Re-gift is perfectly fine if you are 100% sure the giver won't find out. =)

I cannot stress how important it is to be "thoughtful" about your gift. I think anything is fine if your friend has mentioned they wanted it. Please THINK before you give. I've received chocolates with assort nuts and almost wanted to throw that box away (I hate nuts and she was my roommate, which means, SHE DEFINITELY KNEW!). And I received a shirt in size Medium. Are you trying to say something here? Why don't you tell me to my face? If this is a re-gift, you've failed misserably. Cus I know your ass is a medium.

Please please do not give anybody what you won't like. A key chain means "here, I got something at the airport, I don't know what the fuck to get you." Unless, of course, the key chain's $80. I've gotten 4 of my friends Gucci key chains from Hong Kong. I know, ain't it cool to be my friends? cus I'm a label whore, therefore they get to enjoy the free ride too!

Over the years, I've received some awesome gifts. My most memorable one will always be my 20th birthday. It was a well planned surprise party while I was studying in Hong Kong. It wasn't the materialistic things that got my heart. But the one thing that valued the most to me, which I never had - true friendship. 8 of my friends, some I was very close with, some I don't chat with much, but was a part of the group. They all surprised me at a hot pot spot, the whole thing was planned by my ex-boyfriend, whom by the way broke my heart into million pieces, till this day. He had a whole plan of who gets the flower, who gets the cake, who go book the table, who get the gift, what to say to me to hide the event and where to take me afterwards. It was so well planned, I was CLUELESS! I didn't think I'd have a big party of anything, because I was only turning 20, not a big deal. I asked people if they were free Friday night to have a small dinner (I had planned to cook dinner for everyone and just chill, that's what I loved the most). But everyone was busy with some prior engagement. So I sighed and asked my ex what should we do. He then said, how about we just have dinner, me and you? I was happy to just have him with me, cus at that time our relationship wasn't "clear". Turns out I got so mad at him, because I was sooooo hungry! and it was 8pm already. And he's taking forever to get ready! I threw on some sweat shirts and jeans. He's all like.. why don't you dress up? It's your bday. I'm all like "it's my bday, you better feed me soon, cus I'm hunnnnnnngry. I wanna be comfy cus I'm planning on eatting a lot" yea, the horror on his face, can you imagine?

I was so hungry and pissed off (don't mess with me when I'm hungry), I didn't talk to him the entire trip there. Then we couldn't get a table at the hot pot place and they waitress had us wait forever! (it turns out that the person with the cake was running late and he wanted to make sure I don't see him, so he had me waitting). I was about to just head out the door, then all of a sudden, he took my head and turned me around to face him. His hands were squashing my cheeks, so I had a fish mouth. WTH IS HE DOING????!!! he then started asking me stupid questions like "is it red between my brows? i feel like it's on fire, can you look?" "huh??? wth r u talking about?" I threw his hands down and got even more pissed off. Then he later told me, he did that, because the guy with the cake was coming in and I was walking out the door, I almost saw him, so he had to turn me around and let the guy slide in.

hahahaa... clever little boy... now I think about that night, it still brings a smile to myself. All 8 of them spent so much time putting this even together. and they got me a Swaorski bracelet, cus they knew I liked shiny crystals. But the first present was even better, a little wooden box, with everyone's name burned on it (some kind of art popular in HK), and in the box everyone wrote on a little post-it(ghetto!) their wishes. I cried.. like a baby... I think no one will ever do that for me again.. that's why that 20th birtthday means so much to me. they've spent the time and effort into making everything perfect. Just for me! I don't deserve all of these?! But they told me, all the dinners I've cooked for them was enough for them to go all out on me. I was so willing to cook for them! I'm even surprised they liked my food! Never in a million years would I imagine I deserved this...

That night marked the begining of me and my ex bf's relationship. He won me over, hands down. It's too bad only a cheater knows how to win a girl's heart..

Sigh.. anways, the point of this post is just to get some stuff off of my chest. Be merry and thankful, my friends. Give to those who've given you, big or small. You know you like to receive, why not give? I promise you, it feels even better than receiving!

The forgotten beauty

As a self-proclaimed beauty junkie, I've seen and testsed and sniffed almost every single product made available to man kind. The competitive nature of the beauty industry pressures companies to always stay on top of their game by pushing out new brands and images. Let's face it, beauty product probably has 300% profit margin, most of their costs probably go to R&D and marketing. Let's not forget the pretty packages and celebrity endorsements. Beauty brand come and go like seasons, some are hits and some are misses. But I'm sure for every girl out there, there must be a brand or a product that just WORKED. There must be times when you found out it's being discountiued and wanted to dash out the door to grab the last few you can find. Maybe the brand wasn't popular, maybe it's just not popular in this country.. But it was the only thing you could fall back on when all new beauty products fails.

And for me.. the forgotten beauty is Biotherm. Everything they had to offer worked great on my skin. It really is non-oily and moistourizing at the same time. I have weird skin. The drier my skin is underneath, the oilier I get. I never put lotion on my face before in fear of greasy face. However, since I've discovered Biotherm Source Therapie Superactiv, my skin have changed forever. And my outlook on skin care has changed as well.

I no longer fear to moisturize. This lotion/serum is all I need when my skin's acting up. I know it just wanted a little comfort and THIS is what I give to it. Since then I've tried many other serums/lotions as a night treatment. Some worked, but nothing lasted. And I always come back for it. I'm on my 3rd bottle already. For a girl who can't even finish a tube of cleanser, this says a lot!

Since it is the holidays, I suggest the girls out there to give this cute little package for your girlfriends. No matter what type of skin, this will work, I promise.

My boyfriend and dad have received numerous gifts from Biotherm Men's line from me. I love how fresh they are and how great they smell. I'd use the Aquapower on myself! (the green bottle).

They used to have a Biotherm kiosk at my local Macy's. But they left... only after a year... I was so lost. But thank god they have online shopping! Now you can just grab the Source Therapie Superactiv and get freeshipping too!

Now, their makeup line is another story. I don't like it and just don't work for me. Skincare is their speciality and I am sticking to their Star product. =)

Back to the grind.

me and him

me - climbing into bed quietly after he had just fallen asleep
him: ow, you kneed me
me: no i don't
him: no, you knnnnnnnnneeeeeedddd me
me: no hunnie, i'm tired.
him: no.. i said.. forget it.. good night
me *thinking* hahaha yes~! i get to sleep..

me - finding shit stain on my pillow case b/c mr.H was punishing Daisy ON MY BED! she looses bowel control when she's scared. and we are talking about a 250lb man here.
me: what is this? what the F is this?
him: i don't know, brown spots?
me: it's Daisy's shit! wth! i told you to not to put her on my bed after you punish her!
him: ....... it doesn't look like her shit to me
me: no look! i'm serious! if this is not shit, then what is this?
him: shit smear *serious stare*
AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~~~~ god help me!!!

This is the same man who told me he almost bought the Neiman Marcus Pink Quartz $2000 collection of makeup.

me: what r u getting me for christmas?
him: it's a surprise! it's amongst your favorites..
me: money?
him: no...
me: IT'S PINK!
him: uh hmmm....
............ after about 15 guesses..........
me: hehehee... it's not the $2000 Bobbi Brown make up is it?
him: all i'm saying is... you are not good at shutting off your computers *my blog was left on in the browser*

I was literally in tears. He, the man who pulls me away from Sephora in the mall and had to carry me on his shoulder to stop me from going into Nordstrom beauty dept., thought about buying me $2000 worth of make up!!!!

me: omg hunnie, let me show you the new Metal-X collection from MAC. I'm gonna get the dark green eye shadow, it's so hot!
him: why? you'll have the Bobbie Brown thing.
me *thinking* should I even go ahead to explain to him about the difference between textures and colors in eye shades? or even mention that they are different brands?
me: you really shouldn't get me that. It's too expensive, plus I can't use EVERYTHING in there.
him: well.. I already ordered it...
me: *eyes lite up* YOU DID??? oh I love you hunnie~~ Ok, you can return it, but before you do, I'm just gonna take a look to see what's inside, I won't open anything. *clinging onto his arm*
him: hahahaa.. No I'm just kidding, I didn't. I know if I did, you will open up that box and have me sit for 4 hours listening to you talking about every single little thing that's in there.

So do you kick him or kiss him?

I'm proud just at the fact that he even THOUGHT about buying me that collection. I really don't want it though, I mean.. it's just too much and too set up. I'd rather him give me $2000 to shop for make up on my own *I will leave this post open in my browser too, hehee*

Black Friday Victory

Sony Vaio CR290 in Cosmopolitan Pink - $850
Black Friday is overrate and this year's deals all sucked - last year I picked up a 42" plasma for my parents. This year is just... blah... I went to the outlet in Boston, hoping to find some good deals. Never again will I sit in 2 hour traffic just to GET IN the parking lot and stay up from midnight to 9am. The pain.. yea, let's not even go there.
So here it is. My baby. Finally, save in my arms after 1 hour of waitting in line while the sun's beaming in my face. =) As long as I have you, everything's gonna be alright.
Gotta run. Will post soon. I promise.
Stay warm and stay pretty my ladies~

Winter Care

Yes, I'm still alive. Barely.

Work's been crazy lately. We all have a 11/30 deadline and every manager would push for their stuff to get done first. Obviously, I'm always getting caught in the middle. Then clients are all having a fit too, because they are in the middle of yearly closing and they can't be bothered. I tell ya, the attitude mean mugging in this company is insane! Who the hell greets their auditors with "what do you want?"... actually almost everyone. oh wells. that's all the rant I have for work.

Work - Street - Shopping. That's just a logic flow. You can't change it even if you tried. It's in our blood. So yea, I rape Sephora, Ulta and the countless wonderful beauty blogs when I'm taking a break from number crunching.

Let's see.... Sephora - $75, Ulta - $26, CCO - $200, Nordstrom- $20. All in 1 week. Christmas shopping hasn't even began I'm already broke. All I can say is, bonus better be good this year.

So with all of these stress and long hours at the office, my skin is just pissed off. So to mend our relationships, I pulled out my winter skin care reginme this weekend.

First, I got a whole body scrub/massage with Judy. This is our all time favorite spot, only because the treatment is effective and fairly on the cheaper side. $65 per hour. We strip to our birthday suit, sit in a steam room for 10 minutes, then get called to a huge shower room with massage tables. Korean old ladies in bathing suits will then proceed to pour warm water on our naked body, start scrubbing away in what looks like dish washing clothes (I'm sure it's to use on body, but it's the very course and scruby gloves). They DO NOT miss a spot. I mean they are so close to my private parts that I think they might slip a finger in there, lol. I mean, they are thorough, get to every spot, behind the ear and all.

We wash off all the grim balls (greasy/dead skin, yucks). Padded dry, then they lay us down again, this time to lube us in oil and whipped egg white. This is the time for a good ol' massage, but my lady's fingers were so strong and boney, it hurts me more than it pleases me.

I feel like I really don't like any part after that. The mini facial they do with minced cucumber and spread over our face, then wash our hair. And then put whipped egg white on my facial and gives me a super hard scrub/massage with her fingers. wtf? I felt like she wanted to poke holes in my face, No really, she wanted to bruise my face!

Ok. That's finally done and over with. 20% tips later (they'll chase us if we gave them less, cussing our asses out in korean, of course). I felt relieved and finally ready for winter!

So here is what I do everyday to keep up with the harsh drying winter air.

I don't like to feel greasy after a shower. I love the squeaky clean feeling. However, we all know that it's too drying for our skin. So this is what I do. I turn off the water to the shower, wrap my hair in a towel and lightly pad my body dry. Then I pour the Neutrogena Light Seasame Oil over my body, especially my elbows and feet. Then I lay on my favorite lotion in the world - J&J Baby Lotion. I don't care what anybody says, it's the best and that's that. then I wrap myself in the softest robe and sit down and watch The Hills.

I promise you won't feel greasy and your skin will be silky smooth. The smell of the oil isn't so bad, I actually like it. Give it a try~

The second best thing I do is for my nails. My cuticules are the first to tell me about dry air and how I wash them too often. Since I've been busy, I haven't had time to get a manicure and my nails are looking gross!

To get a polished natural nail look w/o the manicure, here is what I do. I step out of the shower and immediately (even before the lotion part), I use a cuticule pusher and push the cuticule back and trim it with cuticle cutter. Sometimes I'll file it, sometimes I won't. Then after I watch The Hills and before going to bed, I warm up Burt's Bee Lemon Butter Cuticle Creme in my thumb and smooth it over all the cuticles. Then I put on some heavy duty hand lotion and head to bed.

The second day, you will wake up with shiny nails and no hangnails!

ok. I gotta go back to work now. Play time's over.

See ya later~

Beauty Review

I was going to post some before and after pictures of myself and what makeup I used to be obsessed with. But then my old laptop crashed... boohooo... which reminds me I need to get a new one. Maybe Black Friday would have some good sales on Sony Vaios, yippies!

So here is a little product review for Mally Beauty..

Here is what it says on QVC - Mally Beauty (I believe it is mostly sold on QVC, but I got mine at Henri Bendel on 5th ave.)

With a twist of the wrist, you can draw a perfect, up-angled line on the outer corner of your eye with Mally's Shaping Secret Eyelift Wand. Its matching, soft powder lets you smudge and fill the line to help give your eye a lifted appearance.Soft Brown is suited for brown eyes and dark brows. Soft Gray works well for those with light or blue eyes and lighter brows. Charcoal is designed to add boldness to any color eyes and black brows.Soft Brown, Soft Gray, or Charcoal.Made in Korea/China.

I got the Charcoal color because the other two were too light for my taste of e/l. I am very skeptical about this e/l, it was half way forced upon me and I felt like I needed to try something from her line, since it's mostly sold on QVC and I didnt want to pay for s/h. And another reason being, I think Mally bullshit a bit about makeup. She likes to turn makeup tricks into another product, making you believe that you can't do the same with the stuff you already owe.

For example, her Lash Illusion Lash Filler - it is a super skinny e/l. She bull shit her way making you thinking its a super mascara. Whatever, I learned that trick a long time ago from ViVi (Japanese magazine). Any e/l would do and I do it every single day. And her Brighten eye crap, it's a beige highlighter powder on a smudging tip, it says will brighten up your eyes. Well, you could apply any highlighting powder to the corner of your eye and make it pop. Its just that the smudging tip makes it easier to apply.

With that said, I felt like I am going to be so disoppinted in this e/l, I might as well return it. It sat in my makeup drawer for 2 months! Then I thought, ok, running out of e/l here... which one shall I break into next? There it is, in the little green box, sitting pretty in the drawer. Then I saw the $25 price tag on it. Im thinking, what the hell was I smoking when I spent $25 on a freaking e/l???? It better be good!

Lo' and behold, it completely surprised me! I always put e/l in the waterline below my upper eye lashes, so usually itd smudge by noon. But no!!! not with this little guy here. It stayed on all day!!! Even after I rubbed my eyes because I was starring at the monitor for too long. The powder side is just as good. The powder doesn't come off loose and fall on your cheeks. It really smudges the line and softens it. But the plastic tip part is a little long, so it wiggles a little, but if you hold it close to the smudge tip, you will get a great soft line by your lash line.

All in all, I am happy with Mally for now. Except the slanted design on the e/l part is a bit big for my application. But if you are a makeup newbie and struggles to draw a straight line, this might help. I love that it is automatic and easy to carry around. So now.. it has a permanate place in my bursting makeup bag.

Cutti gives it 4 out of 5 stars. A little fix up on the design can take care of the little problem I have with the long plastic tip.

I seriously need to start going to bed before 1:30am every night. God...

Santa came early this year

Mom and dad came back from their 3 months getaway in China. It was the longest time we have been away as a family and we passed all 3 of our birthdays apart!! So as a much belated birthday present and a very early xmas present, Daddy got me the bag I have been lemming since it came out - The Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM Monogram. And I added the Mini Pouch Trunks Logo as an extra. So here it what arrived at my office today.

Dog was not included. I just posed as a model.

The new members of my LV family. // The one big happy family!

I can't wait to use it tomorrow. The bag can hold up to 200lbs, perfect for a girl like me, who like to throw everything in the bag, wallet, keys, sunglasses, lipglosses, receipts, coins, my dog. 200lbs is more than enough for me. hell, i could put myself in there!

H didn't get me a birthday present this year. I know!!! Totally unacceptable. So I bitched and moaned. He knew exactly what I wanted. So there was no excuse for him to not to give me anything. I have been without a mp3 player for more than half a year and I am so sick of hearing all the NYC street noise going back and forth to work. So after all my tears, snots, kissing and screaming, he sent over a little package filled with all functionalities..

8GB iPhone!! I loves it!!
Though I have a gazillion gadgets, this little guy does everything. I could be listening to my favorite tone and not missing out on my calls. Or scrabbling for my phone, while taking off my ear phone and picking up the phone, and realize I just missed the call. And I can take pictures if I see something pretty - like the rainbows over Manhattan everytime it rains while I'm on my way home on the ferry. Those are the prettiest spontaneous pictures, God bless camera phones.
All in all, Santa came early this year. These 2 things are what I wanted the most this year. I prayed real hard and made sure I left a copy of my wishlist everywhere. God answered my prayers and here are my little angels. Aaaahhhhh.... life is awesome!
