the things we do to make our dreams come true...

due to self guilt and semi PMS, I decided to do something productive with my time. I've stopped studying for the GMAT, b/c the weakness in my application to MBA is not my score or gpa, it's my work experience. 2 years don't cut it in the MBA world. so I decided to work harder and try to get promoted next year. Geez, 1 more year of this crap. Sigh... with GMAT out of my mind, I've been just playing and totally letting myself go. I had a phone conversation with my mom yesterday (you know it's Asian mother when you heard me say "self guilt"). Nothing like a Chinese mom to make you feel like a piece of shit. I'll spare you the stuff she said, normal human should not be hearing it. but i'm a super woman, so I'm used to the abuse.

So today I came in the office, went to a meeting with a bunch of external auditors, who came to the meeting LATE.. AND he had a circle band-aid on his cheek to cover a cut from his shaving accident. They asked a few really stupid questions in the meeting and none of them were taking notes. Then it hit me, there are so many less-smarter people than me out there, that's less professional, and in a job that even an outsider hates. Sitting through that meeting was painful, trying to hold back my laugh and not push back on their super "open ended" questions. Clearly, they don't know what they fuck they are doing.

Came back to my desk, did some work and then I was thinking, maybe I should go take a class to make myself smarter. I thought about makeup classes or photography classes, b/c I want to have a "hobby", a real hobby, you know? I want to be one of those people who drive 100 miles out the city to some moutain, bust out their SLR camera and shooting away. They just look so focused and intrigued. I want that! But my loser self was afraid my angry Chinese mother was going to call me a dumb ass again for wasting money to learn some useless "hobby", I ended up registering a Global Financial Markets and the Fed class from NYU.

Am I interested in that subject? yes I am. I love learning about international financial markets and how financial crisis happen, and what the market do to react to crisis. by the way, we are in a crisis, and the Fed has been lowering interest rates to boost economy, however, with lower rates, foreign markets are not investing in the US, b/c the rate of return is too low, so that's actually slow the economy too. You know the saying, if US sneezes, everybody catches a cold.

$575 registration fee later. I thought, the next time my mom calls me, I can tell her I'm taking a course at NYU.. N...Y..UUUUUU...!!! big name schoool, wooooooowwww... so she can go tell her friends and show off. I guess it's a good thing for me anyways. It's from Sept to Nov, every thursday from 6:30 to 8:30. At least I have something to do after work, and Henry can take care of Daisy when I'm in class. I used to be not to do anything after work, b/c I have to go home to walk Daisy. Now that H's here, I'm good to go. Plus this will look good on my MBA application, shows them I went above and beyond to better myself and shows them I am proactive in my own career interest, bluh bluh bluh... sigh.. The things we do, to make our dreams come true.

I guess my "hobby" classes is going to have to wait. I will one day take photography classes, just not yet. I always feel like I'm trapped. I want to do something, but I can't, maybe I'm just finding excuses for myself. I want to do something after work, I have to go home and walk Daisy, after I've walked Daisy I'm in NJ already, I'm not going to spend more money to come back to NYC. Or I can't do it, b/c I want to spend more time with H and Daisy. Whenever I'm not home, I feel bad that I leave them two at home alone. I don't know. dilemmas.

life is like getting raped...

if you can't fight it, you might as well enjoy it.

i have no problem laying there and close my eyes to "enjoy" it.. but the least life can do is doing it right...

pretend i'm ok with everything in my life is a lie i'm so used to, i actually think it is reality. let's see what i hate about my life..

1) my job
2) the people i work with
3) some of the people i *sadly* have to call "friends"
4) that i have no place to call "home"
5) constant nostalgia of the past happiness, b/c the present is too hard to bear.

i hate my job, but i need my job to pay for my mortgage, b/c the mortgage buys me a condo by the Hudson River with a view of manhattan, so i suck it up and do the boring job. I want more money so i can afford things, so i suck it up even higher and pretend to care what my coworkers have to say about their weekends, kiss up to the boss and make his 5'4'' self feel a bit taller. so i do this for... MONEY? days on end, i have no idea what i'm doing sitting in front of the computer 8 hours a day. i check blogs every hour, read CNN 3 times a day, bookmarked perezhilton and tmz. i kinda of just sit here and zone out. have you watched "Wanted" with Angolia Jolie? I'm like the guy that became an assassin. Small little cube, annoying ass managers and coworkers. some days i get so much aggression built up, i go to the bathroom and cry... of course, while some old lady in purple suits farting up a storm in there. then you realize, wow, this is it. this is what i do, e-v-e-r-y-d-a-y. And THIS is probably what i'll be doing for the next 50 years of my life. fantastic~

then there are some friends that you are embarrassed to call friends. the ones that's never there for you, but once they need a hand, the first one they call is you. i have experienced being "used" if you prefer that term. but most of the time when people try to use you, they at least call you, take you out to lunch and try to kiss it up to you. but then there are some friends whom you thought were true friends turn their backs on you. for the 18 months i've suffered from anxiety attack and depression, i'd say no one was there for me for the purpose of "watching out" for me. it sucks when your anxiety attack is triggered by loneliness, b/c then i'd try to call people to ask them if it's ok they come over spend a night or just chill for a bit, then you hear the excuse of "i'm already in pjs, i don't want to go out, why don't you just take one of those pills. you can't get better if you constantly ask people to be there for you." i suppose i got better b/c i was alone and went to the ER. this is the same person who said to me "i'll be there for you whenever you need me, just give me a call" well bitch, the next time your phone rings, it'll be from a police. i wish i could become a ghost and just haunt them when i'm dead. that'd be awesome.

i moved to US when i was 11. so i've spent about half of life in china and half of my life in US. since my grandma passed away, i've been thinking what would her country house look like. will they renovate it more or sell it? the house was bought the same yr i was born. there was a chicken cage upstairs, where we get our fresh eggs everyday. i remember trying to reach for the eggs and the chicken would always peck me. so my grandma made a little stick with a bar on it, so i can get the egg w/o the chicken attack me. there was a small garden up front, with grape vine/tree running up the tent. we grew scallion, chives, all kinds of herbs in there. i used to always step in there during the afternoon nap when everyone was sleeping, my grandma would tell me if i did that again, the earth worms would bite my leg and i'll have to chop my leg off. since then, not one step into the garden. i miss home. the vague concept of a place where i felt safe and warm. i didn't have to pretend to be anybody else but me. i miss the feeling of having a family. having aunts, uncles, and cousins. no matter how much you hate them or they are getting on your nerves, they are still family. don't take it for granted.

One thing that I hate/love to do is to look back at old pictures of my college years. I love it b/c i get to see a real smile, a true laughter and all the friends i've made and now don't have contacts anymore. i love it b/c in that one moment in time, all those people were in my world, sharing a piece of my memory. and I, too, was in their world. What a great feeling to be accepted in someone's world, so openly, without any fear or caution. it was love before we all knew what love was. it was friendship in its purest form. it was a great time in my life. I hate it b/c it reminds me how sad I am with my life right now, reminds me of all the promising things coming our way back then, and once we all got what we wanted, we realized we've lost what was the most important to us. i hate seeing them b/c it reminds me how happy i COULD be, the potential to be able to wake up each day and welcome the world with a big ol' grin. i hate it b/c i lost it. i hate it b/c i don't have it anymore. and there is no way for me to reverse my life so i could undo all these years of harm by the human society.

I am not ok with these things. It is unacceptable in my world that my life is not going to way I want it to be. But slowly, I've gotten used to the fact that life will not always go your way, and it will not be fair, so i better get on some thick skin and accept that this is life. Slowly, I'm forgetting my dreams. I stop doing what I loved doing. I cant seem to find what I enjoy to do anymore. I can't seem to find one thing that will block the fact that I am a failure in my own world. We all had drives, dreams, and motivations. 2 years in the corporate world will erase ANY dream you have had, if you allow it to. It's the feeling that you are fighting every day for your innocense, but the world just takes it away without a blink. It's to try to hold on to the last trace of happiness, when all things in life are soaked with sadness.

I've tried, trust me. I've tried to look up on the brighter side. I'll just accept this as a quarter life crisis. just a phase in my life that'd go away eventurally. but honestly...

i don't know if i will ever be truly happy again...

Beauty Review - Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara

Per the website:

Givenchy Phenomen'Eyes Mascara

What it is:A revolutionary new mascara designed to grip at lashes starting at the roots. What it does:Givenchy Phenomen'eyes Mascara perfectly curls and separates lashes. It has a high-tech, patented round sphere at the tip of the precision wand that reaches every lash and adapts to all eye shapes. It's a Sephora exclusive.

The result? A beautifully fanned-out panoramic effect, holding the curve of your lashes perfectly in place.

Price: $27

The mascara itself is small and stubby. Nice silver cap with the signature G logo and a sleek black tube. The brush inside is the size of a pea with spikes on it. It looks scary at first, but once you start using it, you'd be AMAZED at how well it works.

This is curled lashes with black e/l in waterline and ONE COAT of Phenomen'Eyes mascara. It was the early mornings, so I was little clumsy and got some on the lid. But overall, I think it's very easy to use.

The ball can reach the inner and outter corner. If you point the brush towards your eye and push up, you'll get amazing curls and it'll stay all day. The formula of the mascara is not too gooy and thick, so you can apply and reapply right after each application, no need to wait for it to dry. It gives lashes a natural and glossy sheen with curl, separation and volumne, though i'd say, many other mascaras can do better in the volumizing department without too much effort.

Here I used the Shiseido Mascara base and 2 COATS of Phenomen'Eyes. I'm so impressed with this little baby, I think I might need to stock up in fear it might sell out.

Pros:
- Reaches inner and outter corners easily
- Hold Curls all day
- Separates and can let you "manage" your lashes. Say, sometimes you want to bunch some together on top to form a "star" look, this will help you with that. refer to the second set of pictures.
- Formula is thin and glossy.
- DOES NOT CLUMP!

Cons:
- It doesn't Volumize as easily as some other mascaras. Probably need about 3-4 coats to achieve the same result as one coat of Max Factor Couture Volume mascara.
- $27, it doesn't come cheap!
- There is always a little blub of mascara at the tip when you pull the wand out, so I scrap it against the edge of the tube to avoid that clump getting on my lashes.

Overall: I think it's worth a try ladies. It's revolutionary and I haven't been this excited about a mascara in a LONG LONG time. It might take a little practice to get used to it, but once you get it, you'll see all the amazing things it can do to your lashes.

FYI, I have straight, medium length, medium thickness lashes. My main concern for mascara usually are the ability to hold curls, separate and volumize. I love thinner forulas, so I can reapply without waitting for it to dry, and doesn't clump when I reapply. I personally think for length, those mascara with fiber are the best at it and it takes a little practice to get all the fibers in the right places.

I have about 30 mascaras and I think I've try them all out there - drug store, high end, all time HGs and award winning ones. I'd love to do a Mega Mascara Show Down to compare all the mascara, but I know what I'll up again - too many pictures, too much remover, risking loosing my lashes. I'll think about it. In the mean time, ladies, enjoy the Phenomen'Eyes review.

p.s. I never knew my office bathroom drama entry would bring so many comments. I guess I'll just need to let y'all in on some more of what I usually stress about during the day, and the type of SHIT i gotta deal with at work. Argh.. long week ahead....

just because you wear a suit

doesn't mean you know about bathroom etiquette.

I don't care what kind of Hermes belt, Armani suit and Ferragamo shoes you got on, once you are in the bathroom, you are just like everybody else. you pee and you shit and if there is someone in there with you, you tone down the thunder a little bit. Girlfriend, nobody needs to hear the thunder, we all hear the rain and the hail, you know what i mean?

For the past couple of days, I've been having major gas. I can't let it ripe in my not so private cube, so I head to the bathroom. And every single time I go there, there is someone there. So I flush the toliet and let the noise cover my "bomb". There is nothing I can do about the smell, but to let it air out, so you are on your own about that.

But OMG, this lady that was in the stall next to me RIPED A BIG ASS BOMB LIKE FREAKIN' BIN LADEN! Good lord, there was freaking echo coming from the toliet bowl. Damn woman, the fuck you eat? super sized burrito? Feeling inferior to her B52 bomb, my gas just queefed out. So I'm sitting there thinking, omg, she knows i'm here right? is she about to take a shit, cuz i got the urge to shit too.

thus beging the battleshits. 10 seconds passed by.. i rolled some toliet paper to signal i might be leaving soon... she's still sitting there... i hear her sliently doing the "uhhhhh" try to put that dry ass crusty shit out. i'm sitting there thinking, ok now, here we go, i'll flush again and my shit will go, my fart will go, i'll be done. just when i was about to push the handle, her fucking super sized bean burrito fart hit me in the face. now i'm using the toliet paper i just rolled to cover my nose, and one hand on the handle, my ass is ready to shit. "sshhhhhhh" after the flush... my shit still hasn't came out. cuz of her damn funky ass fart scared my shit away~~!

i'm sitting there thinking, i surrender. i wiped my ass and flushed. went to wash my hand real quick, then that bitch started dropping nuclear bombs. you hear all that hail dropping in the water, it's like a black hawk flying by dropping bombs in vietnam. and she release a long sigh... DA FUCK? YOU CAN'T' WAIT ANOTHER 14 SECONDS TO RELEASE THAT SHIT? i'm running out the door and could totally imagine the smile on her face.. what a fucking bitch, i fucking hate people like that, why can't they just do a slient one? why can't they have some kind of manner in the bathroom? if you work a corp job, your first assignment is to get the slient fart and quick shit down to a TEE, darling! apparently, that bitch didn't do her homework. now i'm pissed and still hasn't shitted.

then i tried to go another bathroom about 1 hour later. as i got up, i saw my mgr got up too. then she started walking the same direction as me and of course WE WENT TO THE BATHROOM TOGETHER! doesn't it always happen that way? bathroom bonding time with mgr always comes at a time when you need to do #2?

anyways, she started chatting up with me about what i'm doing for the wknd, bluh bluh.. then she got in the stall next to me! argh, fine. i'll wait. then she started talking to me through the stall wall! do you have any idea how uncomfortable it is to chat with your mgr about shoes while pissing? "oh is that your new shoes?" (she can see my feet on the bottom of the wall, since it's open), "uh.. no... i had them for a while.." "they look really nice, it's very similar to mine" (she sticks her feet over a bit) I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR FUCKING SHOES WHEN I'M TRYING TO PISS! i just wanted to squat down and piss on her fucking shoes. "oh yea, nice.. "

so she rolls her TP, flushes her toliet. then she continues on to chat with me on the outside while i'm still in the stall waitting for her to leave. "i'm going to a baby shower this wknd. it's in the suburbs, i'm so scared of going go the suburbs, it's like there is NOBODY there? you know what i mean? the city has so many people, i'm so used to it. blubh lubh"

while using my pushing my shit out voice (low rusty voice) "I HOPE FUCKING LEATHER FACE CHASES YOU DOWN IN THE SUBURBS AND SAW YOUR FUCKING HEAD OPEN WITH HIS CHAIN SAW, YOU FUCKING STUPID BITCH!! LEAVEEEE!!"

it'd been nice, wouldn't it? but no, b/c i have bathroom etiquette, i wait. she finally left and i pushed my first born baby. so nice and brown, nice coiled shape sitting at the bottom of the bowl. AAAHHHHH... feels like heaven...

ain't that a great way to start your Weekend? empty bowel and not seeing your office bitches for 2 days? AND going up to Boston for some nice grub????

hellz yeah! peace out my chicas~

Baltimore and Hiking

For 4th of July weekend, we went down to Baltimore with some friends for the sole reason of eatting crabs for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day for 2 days. Nice idea on Sat. morning, not so much on Sunday night.

Baltimore blue crabs comes in a few sizes, small, medium, large, and jumbo. The ones you see in the pictures are large, b/c if a crab is too big, it tends to be flavorless. Comes in dozens or half doznes. Steamed with Old Bay seasoning PILED on top of the crabs. They were really good and it doesn't fill you up, so you can keep on eatting and eatting. Every place has their own blend of the Old Bay seasoning or other kind of seasonings. I like them better with ginger and scallion, asian style.

Family goofy picture in the hotel room. and a FOTD. I feel like all my FOTD looks like the same. I wish I knew how to "blend" eye shadows. *pout*

Bear Moutain Storm King Trail. It was so hot and dry that day up in the moutains. We got there around 11:30am and the sun was beating down at us. By the way, I didn't know hiking meant you had to use your hands! Look at the steepness of that trial, we ended up doing some rock climbing style shit. That's me in the orange pants and blue tank top. I always worry people can't find me in the snow or moutain if I get hurt, it's a phobia I guess? But better bright than sorry right?
We got a really good work out from that 1 hr hike. My arms and back was sore. Next time I'm going with cargo pants, the sweat pants was way tooo hot. And I'll need to get a bandana to keep the hair and sweat out of the way. Sometimes I wonder, why I need all these gear for. Them immigrant smuggler goes through hell without a bandana and they be climbing under bridges and shit, why can't i do it? What can I say, a girl's gotta look fly righ~~~
Resturant Week photos coming up. Megu tonight. YIPPIE.. japanese foood!

I can't wait..

I'm getting an iMac soon, at least that's what H told me. I'm so excited I can't contain myself! Ever since I started blogging, the standard of a good picture editing tool and a video cam has been raised in my technology challenged world.

I'd love to use the little camera on the monitor. It's so crisp clear and omg, can you imagine all the video tutorials I can do?! AaaahhHHhhhhh! Also I can take this One-on-One program with a tutor who can teach me everything I want, photo editing, movie making and web page making. Perfect for a handicap in the technology field.

I plan on vamping my blog up once I get used to Mac. My blog is so behind in terms of links to others, functions, maybe a chatter box? or music? the possibilities are ENDLESS!

Also, the best plus of using a Mac, NO VIRUSES!!! YAY!! I never shut off my computer and over time it gets so slow and infested with bugs (not from porn site, thank you very much). it's so slow and just plain frustrating!

For all y'all Mac users out there, how do you like it? is it much better to do web blogs on Mac? was it hard getting used to a Mac from PC?

Thierry Mugler Beauty - available at Saks

I never paid any mind to Thierry Mugler's newly launched beauty collection, b/c frankly, I'm not impressed with the many perfume designers/fashion designer/singers/actress trying to over step their territory by launching make up or perfume. I truly believe that beauty is a form of art that takes years to perfect and for those who over step their talent by using their fame in a certain industry to bring out product that they absolutely have no prior experience in, HELLS NAW. especially when they are priced at outragous amounts. It seems like they are just trying to take advantage of the persistent increase in sales in the luxury goods industry, and trying to get a bigger cut of the pie by making more overpriced shit that people don't need.

With that said, I still went on to do my research as I saw Thierry Mugler is on the Beauty page on Saks.com. A few clicks in Google will lead you to a few beauty bloggers we are all familiar with, whom had the chance to sample these before they hit the counter (I don't know the exact launch date).

The Beauty Alchemist had a post on last yr to introduce the brand's launch.

Bella Sugar did her thing with always keeping us up to date with new product launches.

A Touch of Blusher's guest blogger did a review on 3 of the products I had my eyes.

Visit Thierry Mugler's Beauty Website to see the full range of products available. The site is pretty scary and that robot woman slowly getting her make up done by an unseen ghost is pretty creepy. It looks like 80's porn, full on bushes and everything. Just tacky and creepy, what do you think?

Click on Saks Beauty page to see the products in a more normal 21st century light.

I really want to head over to Saks to check these babies out. I'm especially interested in the concealer. I'll see if I can gather the courage up to walk in there. Seriously, Saks beauty department is notorious for its rude SAs. A Giorgio Armani SA told me I had "sandpaper under eye skins and my pore are enormous!". Uh huh! All finger snappy and shit. Any NYCer want to brave the Saks beauty department with me?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Edit: I got a few questions about my eye lid surgery and eye brow tattoo. Here is a link to the a post I wrote a few months back. Take a look on the info you find on there and feel free to ask any more questions you have regarding the surgeries. Thanks!

FOTD and Exceptionnel de Chanel

On moi face:
MAC Studio Fix in C35
Guerlain Blush and Sun in Sun Light (I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this blush/bronzer!)
Eyes:
MAC Paint Pot in Bare Study
MAC Power Kohl in Orpheus on upper lash line
L'Oreal Carbon Black e/l for tight lining and lower water line
Prescriptive Moonbeam Reflective e/l in Beaming Plum on the top and lower lash line as eye shadow
Shiseido Lash Base
L'Oreal Volumious Natural (me likey this one)
Giorgio Armani e/s in #11 to fill in brows, it's a taupe color, not bad right?
Lips:
MAC lipstick in Syrup
One of the Chanel Glossimer in Scantille something, a bubble gum light pink.

Click Chanel on Nordstrom to read the proclaimed ability this mascara could do to your lashes.
on the outside. the tube feels a little big, I hate companies that try to package the tube or the wand so fat and big, to make you think your lashes will be fatter and bigger. excuse my messy vanity area. major clean up needed.
this is the best i can do with my camera. anyways, you can see the combs and brushes in both pictures. the first picture gives you the full on view of the brushes in the middle. it's actually a pretty wide gap between the combs. the second pictures you can see the comb in the middle. they have white tips, b/c it's white plastic/rubber underneath.

2 coats on my curled lashes. i did it the way the pamphlet said to do it, roll the wand as you stretch the mascara out on your lashes. i rolled, i stretched, i even pushed it up a bit to give it a curl. all it did is to weight my lash down with so much product. anger, rage, how do you justify spending $30 on a tube of black gooy shit? separate, volumize and hold curls, my ass... this mascara sucks big time dick and i don't even usually hate on any product that much. but it's just the price and dude, it's CHANEL! chanel can do no wrong in my book, but now she just majorly pissed me off.
This side is what I usually do to my lashes. Shiseido Lash Base and any other mascara, in this case, L'Oreal Volumious Natural. I love both products, and Shiseido Lash Base has really impressed me. It's my HG lash base aside from my T'Estimo Treatment mascara base.
I'm so utterly disappointed in Chanel for creating such garbage. I'll return it ASAP, maybe get the Dior Iconic mascara in return. Since seeing the Iconic mascara on Fuzkittie's site, I just want to try it so bad. I never really liked Dior Show (big fat wands doesn't not equal big fat lashes!), but this one seems promising. Did you see the lashes on that girl after she used it? So long and lush!
Ok. I'm done with FOTDs for a while. My skin's breaking out a bit from the Studio Fix. Honestly, I think using any foundation will break me out, except for MMU. It's so hot and humid in NYC, I don't want to use ANYTHING on my face. I'm going bare faced until whenever I get the urge for FOTDs again.
Ciao Bella!

FOTD and MAC Power Kohl Test Run

Holla mis chicas. How was your weekend? NY was so hot and humid, thank goodness we didn't go hiking again, as the temperture was in the 100's! What we did do, instead, is lounge by the pool again, making good use of my the mortgage and maintance fee I pay every month.

Pure bliss.. though it is a waste of property, building a pool in such a prime location with a view of the city. Hey, I ain't complaining.

On to the more important things... FOTD! yipppie.. I tested out the MAC Power Kohls in this FOTD. But here are what I used...
Face:
MAC Prep and Prim
MAC Studio Fix in C35 with EDM Flat Top brush
MAC Blush in Peachkeen
MAC MSF in Golden Global
Eyes:
VS Liquid Shadow in Stay Delicate
Hard Candy e/s Palette, a gold/yellow color
MAC Power Kohl, Feline for upper liner, tightlining and water line, Orpheus on lower lash line
Shiseido Lash Base
L'Oreal Volumious Natural
Shiseido PN Eyebrow pencil
Lip:
MAC lipstick in Syrup
Lancome Juice Tube in Autumn Jasmine (Maharani Jewels collection, review coming soon)

We went to Flushing for some pho, then headed to Nordstrom to check out the Anniversary Sale. Believe it or not, I didn't grab anything from the beauty department except for the new Chanel mascara, Exceptionnel De chanel, which is the king daddy of sucky McSuck of all macaras I've ever tried, more on that later.
Taken 5 hours after I first applied my makeup. The lip you see is by MAC lipglass in Prrr.. Which I'm thinking about getting for my B2M. You likey?
EDIT: DOES ANYONE THINK PRRR LOOKS TOO PALE ON ME? How does Prr and Nymphette compare? They look similar but I didn't like the gold shimmer in Nymphette, but Prr has too much silver, which in turn makes my lips too pale.

this is how the Power Kohl held up for 5 hours.. in my opinion.. not very good. It has transfered onto my lid 2 hrs after application and everythnig on my lower lash line and water line is GONE. i'm sorry to report that MAC Power Kohl is not the answer to your waterproof eyeliner prey. It is, however, an exceptional great tool to create the smokey eye look. The e/l went on so soft and smooth, that I was able to smudge it and wing it a bit with an e/l brush (anything that you'd use with a gel/liquid liner). If you want that dark sultry cat eye or smokey eye look, I believe this power kohl is a must have in your book, but as far as hot summer nights are concerned, this little baby doesn't hold up the power.
I'm still keeping my purchases, I know they'll come handy in fall.

Friday treat

The new m&m ice cream bar is pretty good. A free sample of ice cream
bar on a hot muggy NYC afternoon is even better. TGIF!

This week's haulage

After hiking Bear Moutain (came back half way b/c someone's knee was hurting.. *ahem* H) We decided to treat ourselves and dropped by Woodbury Outlet, which was half hr away. I was feeling sweaty, dirty and fat, so didn't even look at any clothes. But this wallet from YSL caught my eyes.
I think I've mentioned before my IT bag for 2007 was the YSL downtown, which I saw in the silver color leather in HK TST and stupid ol' me didn't get it. Now it's sold out and so out of style, b/c everyone and their mom's got one in different leathers in NYC. Long story short, my lemming for a new wallet was kicking, I have been nagging about getting a new long wallet for a while, hoping to let my LV Vernis Continental take a break.
The wallet is designed after the Downtown in my favorite leather finish, silver calf skin, I remember a SA told me that silk were infused in it. Sounds interesting, but whatever, I just like the metallic silver with a hint grey. It's big, roomie, got enough compartments for my cc, cash, ferry tickets, train tickets, bus tickets, coins and can even fit my IPHONE IN IT! So on lunch breaks, I don't have to juggle my iphone, wallet and ID card, everything fits in this little baby.
Original price as told by SA is $530, got it for $239. Actually H got it for me, tehehehe... a payback for backing out of hiking half way.

How can one go to an outlet w/o hitting the CCO. Nothing interested me too much there, as I have WAY TO MUCH OF EVERYTHING in my house. Plus I rarely wear makeup these days.
Here is what I got: Pigment in Sweet Sienna, Blush in Emote, Studio Fix in C4 and the Microfine Refinisher scrub. There was a free gift with purchase over $60 and I got the Bobbi Face Kit, which includes travel size lotions and eye cream and a trael size foundation brush.

I have been putting my makeup in a ziplock bag these days, b/c I get so frustrated with finding the right GWP makeup bag to fit everything on a trip. I came across this little beauty at LeSportac and thought it was just big enough, had 2 layers and cute designs on it. Nabbed it for $28.

A fanny pack for future hiking trips.

Ok. here are the goodies from the SAKS Brushes with Greatness event. There were many counters that had facial, eye brow wax or make overs, it was a huge event spread throughout the store. IT WAS A MAD HOUSE! I over heard an European guy asking the MAC SA to pick out $300 worth of stuff for his gf. He didn't care what they were, what they are used for, just throw them in and put a bow on it. Hunnnieee!!!! You seee~!!!!
The GWP is for purchases over $150. I bought 2 Jo Malone cologne for my coworker, who's getting married this weekend, I picked a scent for her and her new hubby, so that's $100 out the door. I went back there again after work to spend the last $50 to make the GWP mark.
The gift. I put a MAC MSF next to it to let you see the size of this Stephanie Johnson makeup bag. It's huge! I love it!!! I love Stephanie Johnson make up bags!
There are about 20 goodies in there. Maybe you can see it better if you click on it to enlarge. Aside from the decadents and travel size shampoos, there were a full size MAC Lipstick in Syrup, Full size Lancome Lipstick in Vintage Rose, Ted Gibson hair sheet, Chanel Sublime eye cream in deluxe travel size, LM powder Eye Kohl in Black Ebony, and many many more. Every counter threw in some of their best sellers in deluxe size, it is not your average GWP size stuff, which made the $150 seems not so bad.
To make up the $50 I picked up the 3 Power Kohl Eye liners from MAC Starflash Collection, which they had out for just that day. I've always heard about Feline and how it was the blackest black. It didn't disappoint and I picked up 3 out of the 4. Sorry I didn't pick up any e/s, as I'm not a e/s person, but I heard the e/s for this collection had a special texture, which i didn't even get to swatch for you guys, sorry!!!
There was Feline, Mystery and Orpheus and another color that had red/pink shimmer, I skipped as I don't use any red/pink e/l. The color from above, left to right: Power Point in Prussian, Power Kohl in Mystery and Orpheus. I LOVE ORPHEUS! It's so soft and shimmery. It's a gold-ish bronze color. Love how it just shines!

Left to right: MAC Power Kohl in Feline - Lancome Le crayon khol in Raisin Noir - L'Oreal Carbon Black Pencil Perfect - Giorgio Armani - MAC Nightsky Softsparkle eye pencil
I totally see how black it is and the texture of this pencil is really really soft and smooth. I haven't tested it out yet. But from experience, soft pencils usually runs like a mofo. But then again, some people say Feline stay on their waterline all day. So I'll have to see about that this wknd, when do I some FOTD.
Mac Lipstick in Syrup. It's a Lustre texture. Pink Mauve -ish color. Not bad. I'm going to play around with this color and some lipglosses, might be a HG, who knows?
It is Friday!!! WOHOOO! the boss is working from home today. So I'm out of here by 5pm. This wknd, i have nothing planned. I just want to sit and relax by the pool. Do some FOTD. Go to Nordstrom to check out the sale, maybe? What's on your agenda this wknd?
ciao~
